Team Basilica wants to bags their rivals with Pigbags this weekend
Amsterdam - September 14-16, 2007
The Pigbags sponsored Team Basilica could clinch the title this weekend at the final iShares Cup event on a canal in the heart of Amsterdam. Racing from September 14-16, 2007 this final event will even include a night race with the action starting at 21:00 hours.
Pigbags launched its first catamaran relationship with Team Basilica this year. The famous Brit Pack remain the favourites to secure the top place on the podium of the iSahres Cup Extreme 40 Sailing Shares which competes all over Europe. These boats shock and awe even the uninterested passers-by with one pontoon flying several metres above the water and the other pontoon carving the water with a rooster tail shooting from the stern.
Former ABN AMRO helmsman and Volvo Ocean Race winner, 29 year-old Robert Greenhalgh will join Extreme 40 racing for the first time, but he will be in good and familiar company, pairing up with older brother Peter Greenhalgh. The two brothers are a notable force in dinghy sailing having earned countless titles in both skiff and catamaran disciplines. Also making a return to Basilica is Team Manager James Grant and former Volvo Ocean Race sailor Justin Slattery.
Pigbags continues its leading edge efforts by working with Team Basilica in both new materials and design concepts to give them that magic touch to launch ahead of its competitors. With bespoke hiking harnesses and rope bags, the guys are able to get 'extra fat' by hanging out in their unique harnesses.
